About the Harpist: Sonia Marie Olivas

I have 14 years of harp playing experience and hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the California State University of Northridge. Some of myconcert credits include, Athenaeum Music & Arts Library (mini concert series), Lyceum Theatre, Torrey Pines Christian Church (Cancer Benefit), C.S.U.N Latin jazz band, and Shepherd of the Hills Church (Not So Silent Night).

I have studied under the expert tutelage of such talents as Maria Casale (graduate of Juliard school of Music), Susan Allen (California Arts Institute faculty), Alfredo Rolando Ortiz (internationally acclaimed Paraguayan Harpist), Michael Rado (San Francisco Opera Theatre) Stella Castelluci (renown pop and jazz harpist) to name a few.

My music styles include: Classical, Latin, Broadway Musicals, Pop/Modern, Celtic, Jewish, Christmas, Movie Themes, and original compositions…

I have played harp music at over 500 events such as Weddings, Coporate Events, Private Parties, Luncheons, Concerts, Bridal Showers, Gallery Openings, Funerals, Holiday Parties, Birthday Parties, Senior Events, Tea Parties, and other special events throughout the years in San Diego, La Jolla and other California cities.
